We came here for a nice sit down dinner. It is a nice western atmosphere and is very kid friendly. The service was quick and the food was wonderful. Great prices and good food. We will definitely come here again when we go through Elko. This place was far better than Denny's or Ihop
We loved this place to no end!! If I could come here daily I would, but sadly we were passing through and didn't want a chain restaurant. This was the first recommendation and it definitely did not fail!
Always great food and service. We love going for breakfast. The mug skillet breakfast is super good. Eggs, potatoes, onions, green peppers, sausage, and bacon. A side our sourdough toast or pancakes. The best! Bring your appetite.
The food here has great quality ingredients and I am absolutely blown away by how reasonable the prices are given the portions, quality, overall flavor, and experience here. We will definitely be back, and will leave with one of their giant cookies!!

I love this little local diner. Great food and many fresh desserts. They do Monte Cristo Sandwiches the right way. The California Club is delicious. Service is great. They kept my coffee cup filled. Will always come back here for a hearty meal.
Excellent, solid breakfasts, especially if you're up early (opens at 6 am). The chorizo skillet was delicious and I got it with plain potatoes (no peppers or onions) on request. The huevos rancheros were also good, but heavy, with ground beef along with the eggs and the tortilla buried at the bottom. Good coffee, good black tea (also several green and herbal teas).

Wait service is friendly and informative. There meals are large and so worth the money. My travel partner had the hot roast beef and mashed potatoes...which are homemade and super delicious. I had the chicken friend steak with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and a side salad. Everything was seasoned perfectly. My wife's illness took us to Salt Lake City for a diagnosis so we're on Hwy 80 approaching Elko, Nevada and by now we're getting hungry. So we Googled for restaurants and she came up with the Coffee Mug Cafe. It's a huge restaurant attached to the Beer Mug bar, very clean and nicely laid out. The staff were pleasant and helpful and present. I had the ham and cheese omelet which came with hash browns and 2 blueberry pancakes 🥞 and was delicious! My wife decided on ham steak and eggs with hash browns and toast and she says it didn't disappoint! Overall our meals were delicious, the service was great and the price point was about we're you would expect. I don't hesitate to recommend the Coffee Mug restaurant to anyone!!
